The more personal side of Vlad
Apr 30th, 2007 by Vlad
I don’t think anyone that has ever met me was ever left with the impression that I held something back. Be it good or bad, I can pull it off. In person. However, online in the world of black text on the white background the interpretation of the text is not just affected by my borderline illiteracy but also the context, the mood of the reader, their preconceived opinion of me, etc. Vladville, which is my IT professional blog that has allowed me to make many friends around the world, now attracts 40–60,000 readers a day, most of whom have never met me.
And while I consider everyone that hasn’t gone out of their way to screw me a friend, there are things you can say among friends and there are things you can blast out loud. There are limits in life. So in order to control that exposure and the impact of the message, Vladville will be a blog for the professional side of what I do, Vlad.net will be the blog for the personal side of what I do. Vladville will not change in any way or tone, it will still be my voice – I will just put more personal stories about my life, development and values over on this blog where my family can see it and not ask 45 minute open ended questions: “So you’re selling people trained monkeys that organize their offices?” I’ll let Rob Base have the last words:

And I’m known to rock the microphone
Because I get stoopid, I mean outrageous
Stay away from me if you’re contagious
‘Cause I’m the winner, no, I’m not the loser
To be in IT is what I choose ‘a
Ladies love me, girls adore me
I mean even the ones who never saw me
Like the way that I rhyme at a (sbs)show
The reason why, man, I don’t know
So let’s go, ’cause
