Burning out
May 21st, 2007 by Vlad
As I sit here at about 11am on a Monday, having wasted the entire weekend coding Shockey Monkey, I’m literally looking for excuses not to do any work on it. I’ve read virtually every blog over and over, there is nothing interesting (read: cheap enough) on eBay and my task list is packed with gargantual modules that will all likely take more than a week to complete.
I’m staying home today, off to work with Hank on Shockey Monkey mobile tomorrow and then the rest of the week is kind of shot. Which also means the first half of next week is shot as well on playing catchup and the 1st of the month stuff.
This is why I’ve decided to kill the conference attendance after WWPC and cleared all speaking engagements from May through the next year — as much as I love getting in front of people and presenting, the enormity of it all tends to make everything else surrounding it take a back seat. And what for? The Vladville audience is many, many, many (MANY) times larger than anything I’ve ever been in front of and I can use that to do a whole more good.
So it’s a burn out feeling, but I don’t think I’m burning out, just not looking to take on anything that I can’t complete in a matter of a few days.
